Hehehehehehe, somehow or other, threads about car comparison can tickle my funny bone no end!
Cars within the same performance standard are difficult to objectively compare. How are we going to conclude that a 'Stang is obviously better than a GTR or vice versa? The 'Stang may rip the GTR apart in the quarter and the GTR may tear the 'Stang arse around the track. Take them both on the highways and nobody knows what's gonna happen. In the rain, again, nobody would know though I am quite certain the GTR would perform better in the rain.
To compare them properly, we have to take their respective prices in their country of origin. Set a ceiling in terms of cost of modifications, say, 10k USD for the 'Stang in the USA and X Yen in Japan. Bring both cars to Nurburgring and let them loose, around the track, on the drag strip, on the highways and country roads, come winter and summer. Drive them in town, through traffic for 3 months or so. Then I suppose we will know which is ARGUABLY the better car.
One thing I would take issue though, and that is on the ATTESSA's useability for drag purposes. I think it is useful as without it the rear wheel would spin as hell before the GTR launches. Two weeks ago at a drag event, I did about 10 passes, and take this, I am not exagerating, launching at 7000rpm at 1.5 bar of boost, my GTR did not spin at all!!! Try that on a Supra and I would eat your tyres if it did spin!
Without the ATTESSA, the GTR would spin like crazy during those kind of launches.
At the end of the day, it is the all round performance of the car which counts. You can mod a Civic to fly but can it be driven everyday? Will it be reliable? There is this guy in S'pore with a 800hp GTR and damn, he has to drive in 3rd gear on the highways at 110kph (about 65mph)! I mean...shyte...what's the point? Ant there is this guy with a Diablo around town, he takes 5 min to side park! And he don't go to the track being fearful of overheating! Again, what's the point?
The point is, the GTR is an awesome car with awesome performance and REASONABLY comfortable and easy to drive around town up to 600hp mods. That one I know. Trust me.
As for the 'Stang, ask SkylineUsa. He should know. He drives one!
