Yup, 3 nuts holding it to the timing cover, to get at the top one you have to remove the exhaust manifold. There is no way around this, I spent about 3 hours trying to figure a way out. Also, when removing the flat pipe to the front of the car there is a bolt holding it to the oil pan. Use a 13mm wrench, remove the bolt you don't loose any oil when the bolt is out. Make sure you put the bolt back in. And definately replace the thermostat while you have it all apart, its a miserable job to do with the exhaust manifold in place and you have to take it apart anyway to change the pump. Good luck.
