Have you checked out all the painting info in the FAQ thread? I say that because yours is a small question - but needs a mighty big answer! There is heaps of info already in the FAQ that will get you underway without us all repeating ourselves here.
But to be brief (and therefor wildly inaccurate)
About one full Tamiya can plus about the same of primer and clear if you intend to use them.
Laquers are the best.
P.S. Both the above questions pertain to the body only and assume no little disasters along the way (which hardly ever happens
