2wd, I dunno if they had rack and pinion on the 99's. If yours is, I'd say you'd either better flush it a helluvalot more, or replace the rack unit. Check the pressure and return lines too for blockages, make sure you've got new o-rings, yada - yada.


If it's conventional steering, It's not unheard of to get a bad pump from autozone. I've gotten one myself just last month for my van. Chit happens. Hope you get her fixed. Probably beating a dead horse but make sure the pitman, idler, tie-rods, etc, are good and lube the hell outta them.
