nitromethane has to be injected in the engine in huge amounts at a time, its not as viable as Ethanol or Methanol because its so expencive and it gets used up really fast. its something like 25$ per gallon, where as Methanol race fuel is about 6-7$ (give or take)per gallon, depending on where you get it and how high the octane is. not to mention nitromethane is super volitile. each fuel has some really good advantages, but over-all i would say a Ethanol blend is the best you can get. it can be put out by water, just like Ethanol, but it doesnt burn clear and it doesnt corrode fuel lines.
as for getting the stuff, it is a strong possiblility of getting the fuel at the track, it would make the owner alot of money. check your local drag strip and road course to see if they sell it.
