I would suggest based on experience that it is not a bad idea while you are in the belly of the beast to swap out the waterpump. It is not mandatory and you may never have a problem with the one you have. However, do NOT replace it with a rebuilt or another brand pump. Learned the hard way when new pump sprang a leak 20K later and wound up replacing pump and timing belt yet again. Replaced pump with a Hyundai pump. I would suggest you do the same based on my experience. The only non-Hyundai parts I use are K&N air and oil filters. They cost more but worth it. Also don't let them use another belt - use hyundai timing belt. I'm not a mechanic so you can go for it or not as you please. All the best.
