What Year??? Easy job. If the plastic retainer is broke on one side got ot the dealer and get a replacement. You can reach inside the handle from the front and pop the old retainer out and pop in the new one. Then take the tailgate off and flip around until the rod appears and reinstall. If that does not work just pop out the other rod and remove the three bolts on the backside of the handle and remove the handle. Then you might be able to fish for the other rod.
