CV Joint
I have a 1998 Nissan Sentra with 215,000 miles. The CV joints have started to pulse a bit when driving. They don't knock yet when cornering but i imagine this will occur in the near future. When i took it in for an oil change i had the guy take a look and both boot covers were ruptured. He said it would be no use lubing the joint because the fact that the boots are open means the joints are damaged and both axles need to be replaced and with the boots ruptured there's nothing that would hold the grease in there anyway. Since the car is high milage and i will likely get another in 6-9 months do you all think it's worth it to replace both axles? Also can i simply replace the boots, inject new grease, and have that delay the occurance of greater dammage?
