Got it jumpstarted, brough it home, and next day it was dead again. Brought it to my mechanic, who checked the alt. and battery, and they are fine. He checked all the fuses, and while he had them pulled there was something still draining the battery. He suggests having it checked at a dealership. My husband suggests we get rid of it, since he thinks this is the begining of some big problem. I am keeping the car-my toy and I like it. Anyone heard of or had this problem with the 525i, and if so can you give me some guidance as to where to start on getting this fixed.

hello msbunnycat, I'm a brand new subscriber to this forum. was searching for the solution to my own problem and saw yours and was reminded of very similiar experience I had a few years ago with my '91 525i. To begin-my wife called and said it quit and was beside the road dead, I went to get it--started right up!! soon same story-but graduated to more bad events! long story short!!! I eventually rebuilt the alternator and was back in biz ever since!!! In the begining I checked everthing I could think of. Even replaced the bat.!! Hope my experience helps you, sounds just like the story I had. Cheers Davy
