Before you toss them in the bin, most AFM failures are due to dry solder joints between the plug and the circuitboard. Just remove the flat plastic cover with a utility knife & screwdriver, & resolder the terminals. Reseal with silicone and give them a try.
If you want to get fancy, you can unsolder the metal cover from the circuitboard and remove the whole circuit board and sensor assembly for easy cleaning with contact cleaner. But be careful not to damage anything. Resolder the cover when you are done.
I did all of this with my GTS-t AFM when it failed about 2 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat since.

I took your advice well sort of. I swapped the guts from a MAF from my old GTS-4 into the GTR one and it worked like a charm. Too bad I didn't think of that before I spent $350 on a new one from Nissan. But I guess it could have been worse and I spent $700 insted. Thanks for the help I really appreciate it.
