1992 Crown Victoria with a Thrust Bearing

I have a 1992 Crown Victoria with a Thrust Bearing that is gone and will also have to have crankshaft replaced. I need opinions on the following options: all 3 options will need to have the engine lifted

1) Keep current engine (Only 70,000 miles). Replace only Thrust bearing and crankshaft + rear main seal etc. I am also using a quart of oil per 1000 miles. Car is not blowing any smoke. don't know were it going. no leaks

2) Rebuild current engine

3) Install a Remanufactured engine (Full block), if so what is a good engine (Jasper etc)

The transmission is gone, no overdrive, but I can get along with out it. Question, if I choose any of the above option, should I have the transmisison re-built at the same time

I would appreciate any opinions and suggestion on the 3 options or any other sugegstions

How does one change a Thrust bearing ?

thanks
