need help Troubleshooting blown sub
I have a Power acoustik Fubar 12W, running off of a 300W RMS SPL amp, 1.8 CUFt Sealed box. i was listening to music yesterday [volume 20 out of 35] when i heard a metalic noise, i thought something had come lose in my trunk and was banging against other shit, so i poped my trunk andi notice my woofer is vibrating, and it sounds blown. now when i say vibrating i mean it pulled 5 of the 8 screws out and was moving about this -- far out from the wood and then back in. i have no clue how the hell this happened, because the sub is rated for 800WRMS, the box is .05 CUFT bigger then spec. i have had the sub woofer for 8 days its been installed for 7. Does anyone have any ideas how the fuck this thing blew? the DVC both measure 3.92 Ohms, and the amp is fine. any ideas?
and any ideas on what i should do now? should i call power acoustik and see if they can do something? try to return it [i bought it @ my job, best buy, i know best buy sucks but i get a good discount] or should i get a new sub and say the hell with this one, and if so does any one have any suggestions? i dont have a ton of money to throw around but i want something to pound with.
any help is apreciated, i am extremly pissed and confused about this.
