Rap is going the same direction and all music, mainstream. Bands/singers/rappers/misc artists only produce what will sell, and the majority of buyers are teenie boppers, so they appeal to that group. Look at it from the artist point of view. You can make it strictly about the music and fall flat and never get anywhere, or you can make what you know will sell, and make bajillions of dollars. I personally think I would rather sell albums and make buckets of money.

But people seem to only be judging rap and other music by the stuff they aire on MTV and whatnot. Yea a lot of 50s singles are a little thin lyrically, but some of the songs that don't have videos and that arent on the radio are bomb. Same with all the other major players in the rap game nowadays.

Besides, Three 6 Mafia is BACK. And that makes me smile.
