How did he mess up the crank sensor??? Only the wire runs anywhere near the water pump.. did he cut it, or damage the wire?? If so, when you replaced the sensor... did you remove the timing belt and cam/crank gears to run the wire behind the back cover like OEM??

It could be a number of things that's causing it not to start... First, I'd double check to make sure the timing belt was put back on correctly (with the cam and crank gears properly aligned)...

Have you checked for the reason it's not running?? does it have spark.. is it getting fuel...

Ironically... I recently had the wter pump on my 94 2.0 replaced as well... then two weeks later the CPS went bad...LOL.
