pull offs are vacuum operated so if the hose is cracked or rotted it won't work right.

there should be an adjustment screw on it as well to set diaphragm pressure, to do it abolutely correct there is a protracter guage to moniter the precise operating angles. The hard part, every time you go to set it the engine must be stone cold, overnight set other wise you'll be chasing it for days.
