Been working on this project - a 1/12 Porsche 910. Base kit is the Tamiya kit. I decided to push my machining capabilities on this warmup for some other 1/12 kits. I'm envisioning this as a restored vintage racer and I'm using a Gunnar Jeanette restored 910 as a reference. I decided to make the body a spyder version, like the Porsche 908/2. Since the back end would be very visible, I'll super detail the engine compartment.
This is the basic transmission with machined stud/bolt combo. After seeing some progress on the engine, I wish I had left the bolts in the natural brass color.
Here's a shot of the body. Still a lot of work to do.
This is in the nose, forward of the pedals. Brake fluid reseviors and master cylinders. Later, I added an aluminum bulkhead in here.
Here's the fuel injection pump with nice machined bits.
Here's a couple of shots of the almost completed engine. Ran out of tubing for the plugs, so I'll take a break on this until more arrives. Almost all the fasteners are machined or P/E.
Updates to follow.
