Thanks for sharing. This advice should help someone with the same problem.
I also, have never been a fan of the quick connect plastic fittings or plastic anything for that matter. I know it is cheaper and lighter than metal, however not as durable. I was perfectly happy with the way they built cars back in the "good ole days", before plastic became a commodity.
