Warning lights don't come on at startup and none of the gauges work. I got the same problem some what and can't find the fix. It started in July 2005 when I put in a new radio, The fuse labled ING/GAUG 20 Amp is the fuse to the dash broad gauges and stuff, see if it is blown. If so replace.
My problem goes a little deeper every time I put the fuse back in it keeps blowing. And now a good ALT will not charge the Battier. I think it may have to do with the radio not for sure/ Iremoved it but the wiring, After hearing your Problem and hearing the radio and speaker wiring effected the dash board I think I will look at that more or even the ING switch.
