Hello,

I posted previously regarding the cost and replacement of valve covers (top pan gaskets) for my 1992 Crown Victoria. Since the cost is nearly 100 bucks, my mechanic suggested that maybe he might be able to make it using silicone. He says that he's done it before for other engines, just not the 4.6 V8.

Anyone know any reason why this wouldn't work or might cause trouble?...
