Re: tranny and oil leak
I would just find another tranny at the wreckers, they are easy to find. What’s it doing? Do any of the gears work? It could also be a torque converter or just low on fluid. As for the engine revving quiet high when at idle or in neutral, it could be a simple vacuum leak. Where is the oil leaking from?

Other issues - the car started to leak 1-2 litres of oil per month about 5 months ago and the engine revs quiet high when idle or in neutral. (if you are driving and take your foot off the accelerator, it will happily go up to 80 kph before leveling off) What is the best way to fix these issues, can they harm the (new) tranny, or is it time to retire our Vicky.
I appreciate any helpful comments.
