what i mean by the bushings are the bushings that hold the rotor in place and allow it to spin with no fumbling. when i turned the distributor it felt loose and didn't want to spin smoothly; the play was very rough. the rotor itself was fine; i checked and made sure it was tight before i replaced it. i would bet it just needs to be rebuilt mechanically. that being said, i have no idea how much it would cost to do so, or if you can even get a rebuild kit.
