I beleive his problem is not that the mirror-to-windshield is loose, but rather the mirror's "ball joint" as just a little bit of freeplay so it vibrates. Back when I had a sub installed in my previous cars, the rear view mirror would always shake. With my old Camaro the side mirrors would also shake. I just learned to live with it. I suppose you could try to find a mirror that had stiffer joints.
