You have to replace the brake sensors as well. They are designed to short circuit, therefore are for one time use. Once they're triggered as a result of worn brake pads and the warning light comes on, you need new ones. To avoid this in the future, inspect your brake pads regularly so you can change them before they trigger the sensors. The good news is that they only cost about $10 each. You need 2 of them- one on the left front wheel, and one on the right rear wheel. Once you replace them, the light will go out
