Ya on my 97 explorer.
You have to take all that plastic junk off and a steal plate under the dash off + part of the radio cluster.
You will find a lot of hidden screws that need to come out.
It took me three hours to get the gauge cluster to replace the check engine light because all of the hidden screws, and then have to take something else off.
Once you get the cluster off look behind the cluster and you will find little plastic tabs that twist off which holds the light bulb in once you have that out is like Christmas lights you just pull the bulb out of the plastic tab and replace it.
Then put all the plastic junk back on which should only take about an hour because you found all the hidden screws.
Have fun because it was a pain in the A$$
PS make sure you have all kinds of different wrenches (metric).
