I went through this mine was the egr after i put dpfe on but check there should be two vaccum lines from dpfe sens to the exhaust. They are chrome on mine, mine was full of crap blow them out. Also make sure to disconnect battery or go to autozone to reset computer. As for the noise im not sure.
