well I had another overheating issue..... not too long ago. I ended up changing the water pump that was thought to be faulty (due to a clacking noise). Once that was changed and everything was put back together the clacking was still there. Thought that the timing chain damper was shot and started on the route to the timing cover to find out that the Harmonic Balancer was indeed the culprit. The rubber had broke loos from the outside pulley and the center was knocking against it during idle and acceleration. Once that was all fixed up I got to drive the car some and still foud it to be over heating (up over the 1/2 (220F) mark. I ended up pulling out the radiator, reverse flushed, flushed, reverse flushed, and flushe to find out that not much in the way of gunk came out of it. I tried to look thru the cooling fins but couldn't see thru them. They were plugged bad for some reason. Flushed them out with the garden hose and now everything is back to normal. Thought that I would post this incase someone else might need it for future reference.
