As everyone said...GO 5.0!! Tons of aftermarket, 5.0 responds strong to upgrades, and a whole hell of alot easier to work on than the 4.6!!! The 4.6 is good but nothing like the 5.0! Parts are cheaper for the 5.0 also. To rebuild a stock 4.6 you're looking at around $4000 installed. For a 5.0 it's around $2000-$2500 installed. My Grandpa's 98 F150 4.6 needs rebuilt (his fault not the trucks) and that is what he's been told about the price. The 89-92 5.0's I think are the best because they are lighter, 89 first year for mass air, 92 last year for forged pistons (93 they had hyperuetic pistons) forged are better for nitrous and supercharging. I do have to admit that the 94 and up cars have better brakes and suspension, so if you like the newer style but want a 5.0 go with the 94-95 cars. GOOD LUCK!! GO 5.0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
