Yeah 70,000 sounds like BS to me. The new machine is just a Dell computer that runs a specific program rather than windows or something. It has a OBD2 plug in thing and a scan tool that both plug into a USB plug behind the computer. The scan tool is used to scan the bar code on either the registration sticker or registration. This enters the vehicle info into the computer program. Then the OBD2 plug is plugged in and it reads the cars computer and asks you some saftey inspection questions (the plug has a little controller attaches with a Y/N button for entering answers) Anyway then after everything is said and done the program says pass/fail and prints out a sheet from a HP printer that comes with it. Definitley not 70,000 dollar equipment.
