I have a 2000 Audi A4 1.8 with 83K. A couple of months ago my check light engine went on after I filled up the tank. I don't know which Octane # this was was it was the best you can get at the pumps in CT. I phoned the service center and they informed me to tighten the gas cap and cold start it a couple of times and this should go away. Lo and behold it did. This also happened the next time I filled up the tank. However - the light is back on again and I have not fill up the tank. I tried the tighten the gas cap trick and it did not work this time. Is there any insight to this problem prior to me taking my car into service?
