smoking is bad for you and your car. If you do a cylinder compression test you can tell if the compression is low,if its low then you know the rings are probley shot. Hav you changed the oil since you replaced the head? Water in the oil will cause some smoke too.

Now the water pump bolt might not be so simple. If its broke off inside(meaning you cant grab with vise gripes and screw out) then you will hav to drill a hole in the broken peice, so you can get an easy-out in it and remove the peice. This does suck, badly! When drilling you need to go slow and try not to drill into the threads on the block or where ever its at. Goul luck
