Sounds like maybe you cooked the valve body, and it is sticking, so it it won't allow those upshifts unless you do it manually.
I'd drain the pan, add Seafoam tranny conditioner or some Trans-X and drive it a couple hundred miles and see if there is any improvement before going to a tranny shop.
