Don't know about you guys, but racing other traffic has never caused me a problem, I only get hit When I'm stationary.
First one, about 5 years ago, waiting at a junction, guy behind me only just passed his test forgets that if you bring the clutch up while it's still in gear, the car moves forwards, so he shunts my poor little escort ouit on to the main road. Smashed in the rear end, but i was ok. Number plate survived
Second one. Same escort. About two years ago. Waiting at a pedestrian crossing for the lights to go green, moron in the transit (Light goods van, though there's nothing light about it) behind me forgets how his brakes work. Rear end or the car is pushed in about 14 inches, Roof buckled up, rear doors pushed over the front doors sealing them shut, my seat buckled and I end up in the back seat looking up through my sunroof thinking "Sky?????? That's not right."
When I work out what happened and I sit up, my car is forty yards down the road on the wrong side. The transit was up the kerb on the pavement by the crossing.
After that I spent six months in physio and still have a permanently screwed shoulder, my military career is gone and so is my poor escort. (got a Primera GT now, so it's not all bad)
What have I learned from this?
I can race all I like, cos I'll only get hurt when I'm
STOPPED!!!
As for you Yahnozha, I say dent the kids and see how they like it.
