DET swap/tranny issues
I am starting to swap a Bluebird DET into my '94 G20, and had a question about the transmission. I got a LSD tranny out of a '96 Primera to go with the engine, but as I look at my tranny and the new tranny, there is no place on the Primera tranny to put the crank-angle sensor, as it is mounted in holes on the front of my G20 tranny.
I was wondering if anyone had encountered this before, and what they did to correct it? Should I tap and drill new holes in the Primera tranny for the sensor (could I possibly mess up the timing doing this?) Should I swap over the front housing from the G20 tranny? (I'd have to totally disassemble the tranny to do that). Should I see if it's possible to have JWT reprogram my ECU to not use that sensor? (I'm using the USDM G20 ECU, and having it tuned for a Bluebird. Also using the USDM G20 wire harness.)
Sorry for the long post, but any help, as quickly as possible, would be greatly appreciated.
