yes, i did the same on the first day of school but i wasnt trying to burn out, as i took off i was trying to take of hard to catch up with my friend because he was taking me out to his house and i didnt know how to get there, so anyway i hit some gravle and gave a small "squeaaaak" and just told the cop the situation and that i had just had a 4.10 put in the rear (which was bull, the truck came with one, but a 3.23 to a 4.10 does make a huge difference) and he gave me a warning. however for intentionally squealing tires, especailly if you do it to the point you lay down markes or create any sort of smoke or odor deffanitly constitues an improper start and/or reckless or carless driving.
but i do think it is bull that a cop can give you an improepr start if you do like i did and just hit some gravle that is in the road, it isnt my fault our county is too poor to get street sweepers....
