Well I guess most of you guy know that I had oil leak, and cost $600 to fix it, Im driving a 97 gs 5 speed with 118xxx mike. Here the story ( im not good a writing english , please try to understand
). Today I went to junkyard , and found 2 dead eclipse , both are 96 , one are RS and GS. I buy alot of interior part from the gs ( I want restore factory interior , after 2 year of red interior ). Then I saw a gs engine ( in really good condition , and only had 88xxx mile on it. after rip all the part I need , I come to the owner and pay the money ( $20 for all the interior I need in the the domini dash ). Then I ask about the engine , he say the engine still running really good , he say he bought the rs to fix the gs , but he got alot of other work to do , so he quit fixing the gs. He say he want to sell that engine for $500 ( Mabe I can get him down by 300 ). I went home day that day , and call my trusty mechanic , talk about fixing my engine seal leak , he say it cost $250 . Then I talk to him about the gs engine, after while , he told me that If I can buy that engine , bring to him , he will put in for me , include all the gasket , include head gasket , new timing bell , water pump , engine seal, every seal you could properly think off. ( but for the deal , he will keep my old engine ). Is this a good deal ? , If I can buy the gs engine for $300 ( even $500 ) is this still a good deal , is my mechanic trying to rip me off ?, By the way the gs is auto , and my car is manual , mabe I just buy tha auto tranny too. I know it horrible writting , but it the best I can do for now ( mabe later too
