Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to y'all about the key. Between Kids, Vacation, parents, out of state guest, and the start of school I have been very busy.
I finally found the time to go out and work on the jeep. I was able to line up the cylinder and see the key. I glued the paperclip onto the key and made sure I waited to let the glue dry before I pulled it out. It would have worked beautifully except for the fact that when the key broke it bent so that part of the key is behind and will not line up with the cylinder.
Sooooooooooooo.................In my frustration I was talking to my brother-in-law and he says "I have everything you need to pull the lock." Turns out he is a big jeep guy (who knew?). Well, actually, I knew but had forgotten since he sold all his jeeps 15 years ago to spend more time with his family. He is going to come out and pull the keylock for me.
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR SUGGESTIONS!!!!!!
They were all great and Im sure will help me in the future if I am ever dealing with a broken key situation.
