The best time to test out a new engine, is NOT the afternoon you pick the car up, you drive like a Grandma at that time.
Sit at home, watch TV until in the wee hours of the morning, such as
2-4AM. Make sure this is a Tuesday - Wednesday morning.
Then pick a long stretch that's not a major road where the cops
won't be sitting and go.
That's what i did with my Aunt when she had her Lancia, and we had
no problems.
