I came upon your post when I searched Google for the same problem. I threw away $33 at the local ford dealer replacing the switch. (Electrical parts can not be returned.) After disassembling the door, I found that the window worked when the motor was pressured towards the interior. (It could be misalignment or a faulty ground connection.) I made an appropriate size piece of 2" thick lumber and wedged it between the motor and the outside of the door. So far, so good.

Is this the motor most likely or the switch? I tried banging on the door and switch while pushing the switch hoping to indicate a loose connection but nothing different happens. Of course it is 2 months out of warranty now.
