Hello, I paid far too much for a much-mistreated car but I love her to bits too - still a way to go in sorting her out.
My squirters also didn't work, and I'm yet to sort that one out (hopefully someone will come up with a solution here!) but in the meantime, I use the concentrated clean, the one that is supposed to do the headlights too (but that bit doesn't work). I just fill up the small reservoir instead of the big one, and push in the stalk instead of pulling it back to squirt. Needs filling a lot though.
