Ask the guys that race running 10's if their auto tranny depletes the effect of mods done to the engine.
Just because you have an auto tranny does not make the mods you do to the car any less effective. If you look at many professional racers, they are running on autos.
However, many people would prefer a 5 speed, including myself.
