Re: best engine for civic to accerelat?

... It's not as simple are you're thinking. For a starter, I would recommend an LS (B18A/B) swap out of an Integra LS.

If you have a 1992-1995 Civic, I would buy an LS Swap, sell the long geared LS Transmission, and buy a GSR or B16 Transmission. It will bolt right on.

As for the swap itself, it's not too trying, if you're mechanically inclined.

You'll need new motor mounts of some sort (I would recommend either Avid, or HASport), the EFI Wiring Harness will work just fine, no serious modifications will have to be done to it.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head... It's been so long since we did our last LS Swap.

However, back to your original question... I'm not entirely sure why you'd want to put an F-Series motor in your Civic. Now if the Prelude has an H23, or H22 in it, I'd say go ahead, but the installation expense is far greater than a simpler swap like the LS.

Anyway, do some research, get on Honda-Tech and search the site until you're blue in the face.

Good luck with it.
