After I lock the door to my 97 Ford Taurus LX and walk away the passive alarm will go off. I actually do not care about the alarm and am curious if anyone knows how to disconnect it.
I checked the fuse box; however, the alarm fuse is connection to the EEC ignition coil and radio so I do not want to remove it.
When the alarm goes off my horn honks and lights flash repeaditly. I am not sure where the alarm module may be to disconnect it.
...This may also be related to a problem I had when the dome lights would randomly turn on while driving the car as if the door became adjar incidentally (though no actual door really adjar) Eventually I took the lights out as the problem persisted. A few years later I've had problems with this alarm. This may or may not be related as I am not sure how the whole system works as I cannot find the switch for the door adjar anywhere on the door.
Please let me know if you can provide any guidance on how to deactivate the passive alarm as my neighbors might start throwing things at me soon.
