Sorry Stan but the diagnosis is correct. If it will not move forward the clutches may have gone totally out or the shaft is broken. I would call a wrecking yard and try to find a salvage transmission. Car-part.com is the website I recommend to search wrecking yards in your area for the best price on a transmission. I checked and depending on the engine size you should be able to find one for less than $250.
