Re: Noises coming from front brake area
***Update***
SO I went to the dealership on Monday morning. Let me first say that if the Glendora Hyundai here is turning into a service center that resembles Romero Ontario, or the one in Puente Hills, or Pep Boys I'll be in despair.
I described the problems to the service rep (a new guy). First he wrote the work order incorrectly and gave the service tech this description...
"Customer states brakes making noise backing up turning". I looked at it and that is not what I told him. He left out all the specifics that if I were the mechanic I'd want to know about before digging into someones car.
So the service rep. comes back and tells me I need new brakes up front. I told him I just replaced the pads 2 weeks ago. I upgraded to higher quality aftermarket ceramic pads. He blamed my problems on 3 things.
1. The rotors were unturned. I told him they had been turned 2 weeks prior to my replacing the brake pads. They are fine.
2. The pads are aftermarket and not factory. The pads are a much higher quality and grade ceramic thus this should have absolutely nothing to do with anything. Ceramic is much less noisy than semi-metallic so he really can't even argue that the noise is created from the new pads.
3. The pads were installed incorrectly and were grabbing the wrong direction. I had to contain myself so badly from laughing in his face. Pads installed the wrong direction? WHAT? That's impossible.
So after wasting all morning there I was too pissed to deal with his incompetence any longer. The last straw was him lecturing me about how he was a service manager for Pep Boys for "x" amount of years. I thought to myself this guy just said it all didn't he? Now I know why he's a moron. So in the end they took all morning to look at the car and put it back together and nothing is fixed at all.
Does anybody have any ideas???
Thanks.
