Rip out the dash to get the clock, no sir. To get your gauge cluster out first pull out both button sets. They put out and unplug. Tehn there are 1 or 2 screw underneath the bezel(That curved piece over the guages.), take them out and pop it off. This will reveal the screw(s) holding the cluster, take them out and unplug the harness's. Also, there is a hole on the passenger side with a grommet plugging it. Its east to find, but if you need a pic let me know. Thats how we got the wire from the batt. inside.
