I live in Florida, Jacksonville....Not the "coldest place in the wrold", and I have no fear of anything "melting", one of those window screen things work just fine.
Window tent to an extent looks good, but 5% dude. Thats a lot, and I bet it sucks driving at night with it, and if things are getting stolen out of your car, maybe you should take out that 1500$ system. The only thing I think that could be of mucho value is a stero system, in your car atleast.
