Installing new tranny
I am going to install a low mile automatic transmission in my 1991 accord lx with the help of a connection working at a Honda dealer. He is offering to do the labor for $300 and I can get a tranny with 40k-60k miles for about $600 with shipping. The engine only has 95k miles on it and is in very good condition but the previous owner must have rode the tranny very hard because it slips and makes a whinning noise. I tried seafoam which helped a lil but didn't get rid of the whining noise in first and second gear. I am going to buy a new tranny mount and replace that while we are installing the new tranny but since I have never done this and have no clue how intense this project will be (IE what parts will need to be removed), I was curious if there were some other parts I should replace at the same time to save from costly fixes in the future. I really like my accord and do not want to sell it to buy another car and go through all of that hassle and am also hoping after this tranny replace the car will last for atleast another 100k miles. Thanks for your time.
