I had the same problem after i got in a wreck on the front driver side. Ended up for some odd reason the shock of the wreck was absorbed all the way at the other end of the truck and it bent a piece of metal just right that it pinched my wires open and everytime they got soaked in water they would short out. Might want to take out your tail light and peek down w/ a flashlight to see if all your wires are pinched.
