Thumbs up Recap of Japanese F1 fleet - Part 1

::Last update: November 8, 2005::

I guess it's the mystery of part of the Japanese F1 population and all the threads on it, that I have been trying to visualise the list of all Japanese F1's. A recap of what we have been gathering together on this forum.
The visualisation makes it easier to remember which ones are there and to direct people to, when questions arise, and to complement when more info or pictures turn up

Please note: I've compiled this info, mainly from what is present in this forum and largely posted by many of you. I have done my share lately, but mainly confirming presence of some by providing graphical material.
Anyway, a big :bigthumbs: for all!

First a list, with few details, followed by pictures (if we have them) and more info.

1. LM - Papaya orange - ZAZ museum - LM2
2. GT - burgundy - ZAZ museum - 58F1GT
3. F1 - white - ZAZ museum - #053
4. F1 - white - Shin Okamoto - probably #031
5. F1 - dark grey - Tag Heuer - probably #012.
6. F1 - silver - #010 or #070- Pictures from supercar meeting
7. F1 - silver - For sale
8. F1 - grey with red doorstripe
9. F1 - yellow - ELG engineering video - probably #060
10. F1 - carbon - #003
11. GTR longtail - Yellow Corn - #025R
12. F1 - black - Ueno-look - probably #043

And the following 3 are not in Japan anymore, but mentioned anyway as part of the whole story and to allow people to update their memories :-) :

13. GTR95 - Lark livery - #13R
14. F1 - red - #028
15. F1 - darkblue - #018 - For sale in Germany
##############################################

Up for speculation:

A. The whereabouts of 58F1GT.

B. Mystery car at a garage, could very well be 028R. Investigation into whether this car really resides there is ongoing.

###############################################

Here are the pictures!! :-)

1. LM - Papaya orange - LM2

This LM is situated at the ZAZ museum, together with nr. 4 (the famous white F1). Shown in following pictures, last one taken in 1996.

For years we knew it was there together with 58F1GT (no. 2 in this list) and 13R (no. 11 in this list). The Rosso Magazine edition of August 2005 showed it with 13R and a white F1 inside ZAZ. Shown in next picture

Pictures of the Rosso magazine:

And close-ups of LM2, dated Summer 2005:

from the following sites: http://www.rosso-mag.com/08/rosso200506.html and http://forum.racegame.org/read.php?tid=1192&fpage=1

2. GT - burgundy - ZAZ museum

Recent pictures of the ZAZ museum don't show the GT anymore. Whether this is because the display changes regularly or that it has been sold is unclear. Considering that the 95 short-tail GTR 13R was sold not too long ago makes it quite possible that the GT has been sold too.

Pictures from: http://www.tu5j4.com/MC_F1GT.html

3. F1 - white - 053
Recent pictures of this white F1 with the LM, GT and GTR of the ZAZ museum indicated it was possibly located there. The following visitor pictures are taken this Summer 2005 and show it in the ZAZ museum, therefore confirming our guess.

#053 is currently for sale!!

Coweyms, employee at Maranello Motorsports in Australia, claims that this white one is #053. Now that we now this is not #031 (see next one in the list), we're almost certain it is. However absolute proof is very welcome.

Advertorial for the Autumn meet, where #031 actually was the white F1 that showed up.

4. F1 - white
Part of the Shin Okamoto collection. Likely to be chassis #031.

Small pictures of Okamoto's collection

031 finally came out of hiding again at the CG Club - Autumn Meet 2005 and solved the white F1 mystery:

5. F1 - dark grey, Tag Heuer / Head stickers
Peleton25 puts his on it being #012

With Tag Heuer stickers

With Head stickers

Here it is shown, albeit a bit dusty, at the Iding Power garage, in 2005

And in 1997

6. F1 - silver - 010/070 -
This is one of the two silver ones in Japan. Easy to identify from the other, since it lacks the red strip on the door. The chassis nr. is either 010 or 070. Pictures of the chassis plaque are not clear enough to determine.

7. F1 - silver
There is a number of pics of another silver F1.
First pic is at dealer Miyaoka.

It is for sale right now at Bingo Sport, http://www.bingosports.co.jp, view their 'Stocklist'. The ad says it is a '94 so if that's right, it cannot be #070.

Assuming that the year in the ad is correct and the paint color we are seeing here is original, possible chassis numbers for this BingoSport car are #001 (doubtful), #006, #010 & #013.

8. F1 - silver with red doorstripe
No additional info on this F1.

Pictures from: http://berlingo.hp.infoseek.co.jp/photo/McLarenF1.html

9. F1 - yellow - ELG engineering video
This F1 has Gordon Murray's signature on the right side of its tail. Screendumps from video needed.

The original #-list lists #014 and #060 as yellow(-ish) coloured F1's.
One user here claims ownership of #014 and claims it has never been in Japan. We are therefore guessing #060 for this yellow F1.

#014 is now for sale at Silicon Valley Auto Group

10. F1 - carbon
#003 - the ex-Ron Dennis car.

Here at the 1999 CG Club West meeting. Prove of it ever having left Japan has not been seen, therefore still assumed to be in Japan.

9. GTR longtail - Yellow Corn - #25R
This is the Yellow Corn GTR that has been racing in the AJGTC Series in Japan for the past few years.
Seen in the first picture at 2004's Tokyo Auto Salon in the SSR wheels booth, it seems to have been cleaned up quite a bit, but I doubt it's road legal.

These three are taken at one of this years races of the JGTC.

10. F1 - black - Ueno finish with GTR windshield banner
This F1 road car has a windshield banner like the GTRs have. An oddity. Original owner of this car was supposedly Motakazu Sayama, responsible for getting #01R to Le Mans in 1995.
Chassis number believed to be #043.

!!No longer in Japan anymore!!

13. GTR95 - Lark livery - #13R
This is a short tail '96-spec GTR. It had a twin GTR #14R - and both cars raced in the AJGTC series in 1996. The car was driven by Naoki Hattori and Ralf Schumacher, and it won the championship that year.

Has been for sale in Australia at http://www.maranellomotorsport.com/, has recently been sold.

14. F1 - red - #028
This F1 has had a one-off, often described as ugly, high-end wing, shown in pictures below.
When it still was in Japan.

Now in USA

15. F1 - darkblue - ELG engineering video - #018

This is #018, in the ZAZ museum back in 1996.

This means that Mr. Tsuzuki, the owner of ZAZ museum, has owned 5 different McLarens. Unfortunately, not all at the same time, but still.

#018 is now repainted in a gray/antracite colour and fitted with a HDF kit, last seen at a German car dealer called Griesheimer right above famous Porsche tuner Gemballa. Locaton: Leonberg, close to Stuttgart.

Taken from http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=440294 , the thread where Patrick82 posted these and many more pics of his.

I have tried to be complete. Any comments or additional information? Reply to the thread or PM your info to me!
