Head Gasket? 94 Civic Ex w/D16Z6
Hi, I have a 94 Civic Ex that I bought last year. It's had many problems all which I've fixed so far (including a replaced radiator, brakes -master cylinder, tires, plugs and other minor things) but for quite some time it has had an oil leak that I havent been able to fix.
I have just recently encountered a problem which I had thought was a blown head gasket, but I'm not entirely sure anymore because of something I read on this forum. I first noticed that the car blew steam out of the Exhaust pipe when I was trying to merge on the freeway. After looking into it I found that the car:
1.) Blows white steam out of the tail pipe when running hard. (ex. 4000rpm on a hot day)
2.) has waaaay too much oil (over twice the recomended level)
3.) Coolant resevoir is not and has not gone down.
I'm not sure but the coolant may be mixing with the engine oil, the coolant resevior looked darker than normal.
After reading a bit I noticed that these things seem to contradict what I had read about having a blown gasket. It said that I would probly be loosing coolant.
My question is, does any one know what exactly is wrong with my car if it isn't the head gasket, and if so does anyone know what I can do to fix it or how much it would cost to take it in to a shop?
Thanks in advance.
